Advanced On-Camera Scene-Study Workshop
AN ONGOING SCENE-STUDY WORKSHOP: In this ongoing Workshop, we will continue the work we began in our Film & TV Acting & Auditioning Workshop, our On-Camera Commercial Acting & Auditioning Intensive and our Advanced Commercial Acting & Auditioning Workshop. We will meet once a week for 3 hours. Students will be given extremely individualized coaching (only 10 students per class!) as we take our time and continue to hone your strengths, both at auditioning and growing as an authentic and experienced actor.
The Advanced Scene-Study Workshop will be an ongoing Workshop. Classes will be offered in sets of 4 for $200. Come for 4 or stay for more. We’ll be here when you need us.
TO THE EXTREME: The great jazz musician Miles Davis insightfully pointed out: “Sometimes you have to play a long time to be able to play like yourself.” When learning to play a musical instrument, preparation, practice and commitment mean everything. The same is true of acting. It’s one thing to learn and understand what needs to be done –what it is you want to do– it’s another to implement those lessons and desires to find a clear and exciting route to revealing both your self and your talents to those yearning to see what you have to offer, be they casting directors, directors or members of an audience. In this ongoing Advanced Workshop we will, together, take the skills and confidence you gained in those earlier workshops and push them to the extreme.
FILM, TV & COMMERCIALS: I want you to have the opportunity to continue doing your work in an intimate setting as we learn to break down Film, TV & Commercial scripts; to understand how to find yourself in any role, any genre; how to understand and discover the subtext inherent in the storytelling; to see each scene as a complete story in and of itself so that your auditions are not simply moments, but display full character arcs that exist as complete stories unto themselves.
Join us as we move forward in creating an open, safe and authentic place to explore both the storytelling craft, self-expression through acting, and the art of auditioning.
